Personal Project

For my personal photojournalism project I would like to do a series of images of my neighborhood. I live around Little India. This unique neighborhood is located at 74 Street in Jackson Heights. When you visit Little India is like you have traveled to South Asia because not only you will enjoy the Indian culture but also you will meet people from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nepal. My main goal is to look deeper into everyday life events of this place that is rich in culture, overflowing with colors and vast in interesting subjects. First of all, I would like to create a series of images that present an overview of the neighborhood, and later I will show important and significant details that highlight this place. In addition, I look forward to make some good portraits of the street vendors and interesting people that I hope to find on the street. For portraits, I want to pursue a deliberate moment, but also I'm going to wait for the interactive action. My project will be full color and I'm still deciding if I will make a Powerpoint presentation or a video. My challenge shooting this project is to achieve and show with my images the essence of this place “Little India.”

These are the first images I have shooting for my project.
