Actors In Character

I would like to elaborate a series of dramatic portraits using different actors playing a character. The actors are going to be dress as the character required to perform on the photographs. The main subject of my project will be to shoot a range of emotions the actor uses to play this character. Not only, I’m going to photographs an actor with a costume, but, I will also photographs the emotions the actors feel in his soul when he performs this character. Emotion will be the key to express and develop my portraits in this project.

I will create an approximate of 15 to 20 dramatic images. So far, I've made a list of the characters I'm going to shoot. It will help me to organize the scene and be clear about all the needs I will require on the shooting. Locations, props, equipments, and actors that I will use in the scene are include on this list.

In order to create this images I will use a digital camera Canon 5 D Mark ii. My project will be black and white. The light will determine the mood of the scene. The lighting equipment I will use for this project is going to be the Broncolor Move 1200. When I shoot at the theater I will use stage lighting, for example the source four. I will use different intensities until I achieve the appropriate light for the frame. I will use a low-contrast lighting that will flatter the feeling and the mood of the actors. Also, I want to shoot dramatic look. Dramatic lighting will emphasize the expression and the emotions of the actors. This is one of my favorite kind of lighting. Therefore, I would like to explore this kind of lighting very carefully.

I already have a tentative list of actors that will be working with me in this project: Ricardo Barber, Don Quixote, Noelle Mauri, The Goddess, Dalia David, Aunt Julia, Mario Matei, Sancho and Yessi Hernandez as Dulcinea.

I will create portraits full of drama, passion, desire and love. I'm not shooting an actor. I’m going to shoot the passion actors have when the play a character. I’m going to shoot Don Quixote, Sancho Panza, Dulcinea, Aunt Julia and The Goddess and his/her emotions. They are going to be main character for my portraits.
